3/4 # cheddar cheese
4 slices bread
pinch dry mustard, salt, pepper
2 T minced onion
1 1/4 c half & half
Butter bread on both sides and cut into cubes. Mix eggs, onion, spices and cream together.
In a 8×8 pan layer half the bread cubes and half the cheese, repeat with remaining. Pour mixture over and refrigerate overnight.
Bake 350 for 20 min and reduce to 300 for 1 hour more.
I made this for a New Years Morning Pot Luck and it was a hit!
This can also be made in a pressure cooker using a 2 qt pan inside your cooker.
Bring to pressure for 5 min and use natural release method.
